Dish Network Complaint - Dish Network is Ridiculous
Today I realized that I had received 3 different charges, for different amounts, on my credit card since December, 2009. I called Dish Network and was told that my rate had increased and they explained the other charges. When I questioned if I was under contract I was told that I had entered a two year agreement on 1/17/09. I asked how it is that my rate could increase while I was under contract. It was explained that they have the right, per language in the contract, to raise my rate at any time without notice. I requested a copy of the contract, with my signature, including this language. I was eventually transferred to Nicole at 720-514-8555 x71287. Nicole informed me they would look for the contract I signed in 2006, as that is the contract that would contain this rate language. Nicole went on to say that if they could not find that contract or if it was found to be invalid, they would charge a $49.00 activation fee. When I questioned this logic Nicole simply kept restating that if they were unable to find the 2006 contract or if it were found to be invalid then that indicates I didn't pay the activation fee in 2006 and I therefore must pay it now. You know, I don't know if I paid an activation fee in 2006, but I know I am NOT paying one now. At this time, this issue is yet to be resolved, but I can tell you that I am extremely disappointed in Dish Network for even thinking they can charge a customer an "activation" fee 4 years after obtaining service!
