Geek Squad Complaint - What a JOKE!
ROSEVILLE, CALIFORNIA -- I bought my laptop from Best Buy 1 year and 4 months ago...so the warranty was up after the year and I didn't buy the service plan. My power adapter on the laptop had broken. So I took it to the Geek Squad...without even taking the laptop from me, the associate says that he'll charge me more than I paid for the laptop brand new and that I'd be better off just walking a few steps behind and purchasing a new one. Now I'm a little partial to this one because it is so great, plus I don't have another $800 to spend. So without much thought and laptop in hand, I walked out preparing myself to fix it on my own. I had my boyfriend help take it apart and fix it...costs us just a few dollars!!!
It's back to new again and NO THANKS to the Geek Squad. So much for being there for computer repairs and help. I will never ask for their assistance ever again.
I'd take my business to a smaller, locally owned place before I go back there.
