Auburn Valley Hyundai, Auburn Washington Complaint - Customer service - License Tags

Review by armybrat on 2010-03-18
AUBURN, WASHINGTON, WASHINGTON -- I purchased a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe from Auburn Valley Hyundai in February 2010. I patiently waited for my license tags to arrive in the mail. I requested them to be mailed when I purchased the car since I live several hundred miles away. Two weeks before the tags were to expire, I began calling the Dealership, and was assured that they would be sent or were "in the mail". The tags have since expired and I drive in peril knowing that I could be stopped at any given time for expired tags. It seems to me that it is poor customer service if the customer has to track down their own tags. Shouldn't the dealership notify the customer that tags have arrived since they are the responsible agent? Also, it would certainly be better if employees were truthful and state the facts instead of lying about something that would be done or has been done.
Company Response on 06/10/2010:
Auburn Valley sold the Hyundai franchise to Tom Matson and the business is now under Auburn Auto Center Hyundai. I hope you are contacting the right dealership to get your plates. This maybe the reason you are not getting a response.

Not sure how long the temp tags last in your area, but in PA they last for 90 days. IF you didn't get them after 2 weeks, you should have started calling them every day or even multiple times each day until you got your tags. Even though it is a few hundred miles away, it would have been worth the trip to go back and cause a scene in the showroom, IT may have scared them into giving you new temp tags or the actual tags.

just ask them to reissue you the temp plate. Usually they give you 30 days or so and the plates should come by then. Don't know where your from but in Washington we have plates and tabs. Seems simple enough to ask them to mail you a new temp one.

In TN when you buy a car, you get your tags when you register the vehicle with the DMV clerks office.
