Having been a fan of Thinkpads from the days of IBM I decided to try Lenovo after looking at several different brands. I was nervous based on some mixed reviews I read, but a friend of mine's company uses them exclusively with good luck. So I took the plunge with a new T510 w/i7 processor from the Lenovo website. So far (6 weeks) this machine rocks! Great performance, no problems at all. Out of the box perfect performance. The order shipped as scheduled and arrived on time. The only problem I encountered was courtesy of Microsoft. There was a trial offer for Office 2007 loaded on the system. Activating the trial was simple enough but actually buying the license was a nightmare. After 5 hours on the phone with Digital River and Microsoft I could not get a download or key that matched, so I gave up and downloaded Google's on-line suite. Microsoft's greed and the subsequent security that follows it has created a process so convoluted you can't work through it. SO net net, love the machine, hate Microsoft. My next OS will be Linnux, and my apps Linnux based. I'm done with the darkside of Redmond WA.
