Puccini's Venetian Subs Compliment - Better Sub Sandwiches

Review by Starlord on 2010-03-20
We had seen this sub shop several times, and decided to give it a try. Located at 5500 College St SE in the Oly/Lacey area, Puccini's Venetian Subs is unprepossessing when seen from the outside. When you step through the door, the marvelous aromas of Italian food meets you. The place is very clean, and I noticed the two guys on duty put on plastic gloves prior to preparing sandwiches, and threw them away afterwards. Sandwiches were prepared right in full view, including grilling for some of the subs. I don't believe Thurston County requires the use of gloves, so this impressed me. I ordered the Italiano on whole wheat, and Crystal got a meatball sub. They apparently have a sale right now, with all footlong subs selling for $5.99. My sub was actaully two meals, and the meats and cheese and veggies attempted to escape when the cook tried to wrap it. Crystal agreed with me that the sub tasted better and was more filling than Subway. The place gets straight A's for cleanliness, taste, value, and overall top quality.

Sounds delicious, and a nice alternative to Subway. I like the A for cleanliness, too!

It looked to me like on a busy day, they could go through a box of gloves, easy. Everything in the place was spic and span.
