Lane Bryant Complaint - Why Don't You Sell Outfits For Bigger Chested Ladies?? - Shirts

Shirts - Complaint
Review by beanbagbritches on 2010-03-20
Resolution Update on 06/12/2010:
Nobody listens.
GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA -- I went to your store in Friendly Center in Greensboro today, only to discover that none of your shirts are cut for bigger chested women. Also, your bras always have a lot of padding in them and they make our chest look bigger! I'm a bigger lady, I don't need my already large chest to look huge! Somewhere along the way, I think you have gotten some bad information about women in our society. Not all larger women are built the same way. I am a more hour-glass figure with large hips & a large top.

Please consider carrying a more diverse stock so that I can purchase clothing from your store.

Thank you.

I buy JMS (just my size) bras. You can get them with no padding and no wire if you want and they are comfortable and last. I have a friend who says that her Lane Bryant bras always get stretched out and she has to replate them every 6 months or so.

Good review. Very helpful!

I have tried those bras. I tried them on at Wal-Mart & they didn't fit well. Maybe my chest is a weird shape. HAHA

Still helpful.

Do you have an Avenue near you? They have good bras but I like the cheap kind LOL!

Brenda...the closest one is about 85 miles from me. What a shame. Thank you anyway.

Did you try online? They can carry more than the store can. I like their underwear and bras. They are the only ones that fit right. I like their Right Fit jeans. There, I am only a size 2.

I've seen some ladies stores called "Dress Barn." But geez, if you have to shop there - I'm just sayin' . . . . .

Guess I have lucked out with Lane Bryant, everything I bought mailorder from them fit rather well and has held up real well, with the exception of the one winter coat that I bought, after a few months i had to have the seam near the pocket repaired because the seat beat caused it to open up, no biggie, the alterations place charged less than $10 and my coat looks like new again, and i no longer wear it when driving....don't want that to happen again!!

Actually, I bought two coats at the same time, the one I had repaired is a keather look hooded car coat and it has fake fur trim around cuffs, hood, and the first few inches on either side of the zipper on the inside...this was a $99.99 coat and I paid $18.99 for it. The other was a dressy pant ciat in fake fur, leopard print mixed with tiger, it's held ip beautifully and it was $179.99 reduced to $19.99.........bought them both because of the price reduction. Guess it was a closeout on the styles but I love them both! I also ordered some blouses and some pj pants from them and all fit well, and the price was extremely cheap....again, closeouts but WOW....the savings and value there.

The Dress Barn is also a good place to shop for plus sized gals, but they are rather expensive, and I found that the clothes that I bought there didn't hold up very well.

I don't usually order online because I like trying out the bra before going. Lane Bryant doesn't have very good bras for me.
Posted by PepperElf on 2010-03-23:
personally i like a bit of padding
but that's because thinner bras can be embarrassing ... like when you have coworkers who eyeball your chest and ask if you're cold.

O_o

I hate when that happens.

I'm build like a 12 year old boy personally, skinny and semi flat chested. I use bras that help shape and size my boobs. Though I must admit, I have little trouble shirt shopping, everything fits great. It's the one secret blessing small chested ladies have.
Posted by PepperElf on 2010-03-23:
stew that happens to you?
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2010-03-23:
3 days later and Sheriff still finds this review helpful! LOL...

Yeah, I never understood the purpose of padded DD bras...geesh, we don't want to look like an overstuffed chair, we just want our boobs to stop bruising our knees!
Posted by Wally86 on 2010-03-23:
*Fascinating*
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2010-03-23:
Maybe it would be easier for us to buy kneepads instead of bras.
Posted by zzrokk on 2010-03-23:
YT, I have had a few g/f's like that and those padded bras were a savior for them and made good "eye candy" for me with their great fitting blouses.
You go girl!

I remember a friend I had in highschool (yes, I had one)...she was as flat as an iron. She wore padded bras then complained to me because she said she didn't know when guys felt her up because she couldn't feel them. She said, she didn't want them feeling her up and her not say anything about it, and they continue thinking it was ok. I think it was more like, she couldn't feel being felt up and that was her only complaint. LOL!

PepperElf...breast petals can help with the nipple issue.
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2010-03-23:
Beanbag...I also knew a girl who sewed little round buttons in the cups of her bra so it WOULD look like her nips were showing. I have no clue what she did when hers actually did show through WITH the buttons...two boobs and for nips? LOL!

Yeah, Yeah...I never said my friends were all normal!

DB, stop ruining this thread with your high school locker room peep sessions! (NH)

Oh sure, you say that now ZZ...after you had to be peeled from the ceiling!

Huh?
Posted by Nohandle on 2010-03-23:
BBB, I have an acquaintance who actually has to use a dressmaker for blouses and dresses for just that reason. If she buys a dress for her bust size "off the rack" she still has to take it to her dressmaker to have fitted elsewhere. She has no problem buying slacks, shorts or skirts at any store. You might have to consider a dressmaker although that doesn't address your complaint with Lane Bryant clothing.

Nohandle...thank you for your non-smutty & helpful reply. hee hee! I do appreciate it.
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2010-03-23:
Hey...Mine wasn't smutty!!!!!!
Posted by jktshff1 on 2010-03-23:
is the op bragging or complaining?
Posted by PepperElf on 2010-03-23:
i wasn't being smutty!

that really happened to me at work!
Posted by jktshff1 on 2010-03-23:
whoa beanbag, sorry did not realize that was you.
Posted by beanbagbritches on 2010-03-24:
jktshff1--Who did you think it was? Also, I wouldn't brag about my size. I am a hard size to fit on top.
Posted by jktshff1 on 2010-03-24:
"running and ducking" in a hurry, read the review, not who did it. I will do better.
Posted by beanbagbritches on 2010-03-25:
jktshff1...you should be nice to everyone, even if I'm not the one who wrote the review. Am I going to have to treat you like one of my kids & send you off to your room without dessert? Tee hee hee!
