Dish Network Complaint - Terrible representation and installation of service for Dish Network...
I recently moved our family's service from DirectTV to Dish Network because I thought we were going to get a better deal. One of things we were looking at besides the price and the channels available was also the option to be able to record other shows while watching something else (why would you record something you are watching?)
When we originally had DirectTV, we could record multiple other channels while also watching something else, whereas with Dish Network, you have to have multiple receivers in order to accomplish this function. With one extra receiver, we could record something on T. V. #2 (in the bedroom) and the person in the living could watch what they wanted to, however, if the person who normally watches T. V. in the bedroom wants to watch that T. V., they are out of luck because there is a show that is recording on that T. V. and if you switch the channel, iti will interrupt the recording. I was told that we could get additional DVR receivers for other TVs and increase the number of TVs we could use, however, you seem to run into the same issue if the other TVs are also being watched by others. Dish Network needs to reconsider the outdated technology that they use and consider upgrading it so that it is comparable to what DirectTV uses.
To add insult to injury, after the installation was completed, the Dish Network tech had cut some cables that they weren't supposed to. This was the cabling for our high speed internet service and wasn't noticed until after the tech left and I just happened to attempt to log-in to the internet, but there was no connection. Also, the Vonage telephone service wasn't working (no dial-tone), due to the cut cable that was found.
