Tire Kingdom Clermont FL Complaint - Bait and Switch - Chrysler Sebring

Review by mammaismad on 2010-03-21
CLERMONT, FLORIDA -- Being new to the area, I needed car repairs but had nowhere trustworthy to go. My front end was squeaking when I made tight right turns, especially when the car had been sitting for some hours and was not warmed up. I went to Tire Kingdom, suspecting that maybe the power steering was defective and they told me that I had to replace the front end suspension, ball joints and steering arm. This came out to over $2, 000.000. I allowed them to do the work and no sooner do I leave the parking lot, the sound is evident right away. I take it back, not believing my ears, and they tell me that I need to clean out the power fluid system (you think?) and replace a few belts. I argued until they reduced the price to 1/2 o the quoted price but I am so disgusted by the scam. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO TIRE KINGDOM! I will never take my car there again and I will make it my business that NO ONE I KNOW goes there ever again.

That is not bait and switch. It is a rip-off.

When someplace gives you an estimate that seems high, ALWAYS get a second opinion. With a Chrysler product, a squeaking sound when you turn is usually indicative of something wrong in the power sterring system, not the front end. At least now you have a rebuilt front end and will know what to do next time. Getting a second opinion may take a bit of time, but in the end, it is usually helpful. BTW, this is NOT bait and switch, it is merely a misdiagnosis by grease monkeys who do not know what they are doing.
