Applebee's Complaint - No respect to Senior Citizens
MESQUITE, TEXAS -- On December 15th 2009, I and my husband went to have an early dinner at Applebee’s in Mesquite, TX 75150 and we had placed our order for the 2 for $20. We were offered an up sale for the loaded bake potato but decline. Minutes passed and we saw another customer who was receiving food and the bake loaded potato looked so good we decided to ask our waitress to change our order to the loaded potato. Instead of our original waitress coming back to let us know that it was too late to change another waitress appears with our food and explained that it was too late and we could not add it. She was very rude and after about 5 minutes off into our meal here comes our regular waitress back and once we explained to her about our ordeal she apologized for the behavior of the other waitress. I decided to e-mail Applebee’s about the rude service and in return customer service got back to me within a timely fashion and told me to call the Mesquite, TX location and speak with the Account Manager for that location. The Account Manager had been calling me and I was calling her as well so on my last voice message from her she explained, that I could talk with any manager and that they would be able to help me. Well I did call and reached a male Manager who I told my story to and he treated me as though I did something wrong. I explained to him I still had given the original waitress a tip because she was not the one who was rude and I thought the reason for the other waitress bringing our food was because our waitress was on break, but she wasn’t on break she just avoided the situation until after the food was delivered by the rude waitress. He advised that he would send complimentary coupons for Applebee’s which at that time I told him he could send my husband one but to disregard me because I will never eat at another Applebee’s. He was very arrogant unlike the first Manager and I feel if I would have held out to speak to her we would be still be patronizing Applebee’s. Also, I didn’t know that this is a franchise and for some reason they do not extend the same courtesy for the overall Applebee’s. I thank God that we as senior citizens have a lot more family restaurant’s to choose from than Applebee’s. It’s a shame that people look down on the elderly and yet try to keep a business afloat. Bad customer service will cause you to loose a lot of good customers whether young or old. We was considering this restaurant for our family reunion but since it was voted out due to the bad service.
