Home Depot Complaint - Unreliable/Qualified Extended Contracts
PLANTATION, FLORIDA -- A 3 yr. old fridge-the ice maker didn't work-had an extended warranty. First call warranty people set up an appt. with service company-they called and cancelled. A week later the tech. came out said it needed a new board, took something off the front and left-neglecting to mention the whole refrigerator/freezer will not work. The part that was ordered took another 2 weeks to get to the service tech. even though Maytag had 400 in stock in Indiana. The tech put the new part on, said not to turn the ice-maker on, left and I had a working fridge/freezer. Still no ice-maker. I called the warranty people they set me up with a new refrigeration service. It was to come on Monday 8-12. When I called the new service-A&E-they had no record of any appt. Calling back the warranty service I was told the e-mail they had sent to A&E on Friday didn't go through.
Now I have a new tech- from a different company-coming to fix the ice-maker which was the problem in the first place. Never again will I buy an extended warranty for anything Home Depot sells. If they are going to sell it they need to have their own service unit!!!!
