Continental Airlines Complaint - AIRPORT POLICIES - SEATS ASSIGNMENT
I am planning to travel next Friday and do to Airport Policies have not been able to get a seat assigned yet. I called the airline and they said that the airport has blocked the seats still available in order to be able to meet customer needs at the time of checking. I think this is unreasonable because I know that even if I arrive three hours in advance they will tell me that the only seats available are those in the middle of a row, this is, the ones that nobody wants. I am pretty sure this will happen as it has happened to me in the past. That is why I wanted to make sure by calling the airline in advance that this would not happen again. What the airline tells you when you are checking at the airport, is that the will know which seats are remaining 40 minutes before the flight so they tell you to be around until then to check. This is completely ridiculous considering that you are talking of an international fligth of more that 7 hours where you have to pass through customs and all that, which takes you more than 40 minutes. I really regret this. I think that the airlines should try to avoid this type of practices, which are pretty uncomfortable and that cause people hating to fly.
