Days Inn Complaint - Encouraged theft
On January 28, 2010 I was a guest at Days Inn Motel, Winnemucca Nev. On leaving the motel in the morning, to attend my sister's funeral, my daughter and I overlooked packing my pillow. This oversight was discovered at 9:00pm. I immediately phoned and reported the loss to the motel. I offered my credit card number to cover shipping cost for the return of the item. The only response the motel gives is that the room was checked at 10:00 pm and the pillow was not in the room at that time. This same response was given again and again when I asked about any reasonable lost and found policy. Finally I received a poorly written, badly spelled letter from the manager stating that there were signs in the motel indicating they were not responsible for lost items. It is my personal feeling that this attitude, plus the refusal to have a lost and found policy for keeping misplaced items for even 72 hours for recovery by interested parties resulted in no less than theft of my $149.95 down pillow. Do beware when traveling of this "We are entitled to take everything we can" attitude.
