DirecTV Inc Complaint - Frustration - SATELLITE TV
We have been a customer of Direct TV for 6 1/2 yrs. February 2010 after the Super bowl we started having problems with our picture. After being asked to jump through hoops and explaining to them that the box was the problem they finally came and replaced the box on February 25th. We watched TV that night. The next night there was a huge storm - power surge- TV went went black. Box got cooked. The day before we were to leave on vacation I called explaining what had happened. They gave me the run around. I said I didn't have time to go through all this stuff again and that the box needed to be replaced because the tech didn't plug it into the surge protector! They said no they couldn't come out. When we returned from vacation 3 weeks later I called again saying I need to get this replaced. I spoke to several supervisors all of which wanted me to check the power to see if it was the plug. I said there was a orange light on in the back of the box so I think it's getting power. They "Oh that is a good point" Anyway... They were going to come out Tuesday 3/23/10 between 4-8PM. Got a call tech not coming because went to the hospital! Will come Wed between 8 - 12 noon. I said no. Between 8-10 is better because we have to WORK. Wednesday 10 AM comes goes.
We called at 11:15 they said we will get a call in 20 minutes. No call. Called back at 12 noon the guy said would be there within 2 hours. My husband who has his own business stayed home. Check home to if anyone had come; no. I called Direct TV from the office. Towards the end of the conversation they said the guy didn't come Tuesday night because of the weather! I was furious! They lied to me. Not only that but she said that they had put our tech on hold because of weather and did I want to reschedule? They NEVER had scheduled the tech to come Wednesday! My made arrangements to have Dish come on Friday. I didn't dare tell my husband! He had been waiting since 8 AM on Wed. Such lying in a business is mind boggling.
Please don't ever deal with these lying........ again. They ought to be reported to the better business bureau.
