Orbitz Complaint - Orbitz hides service charges on flights of combined airlines
Yesterday I booked a flight with Orbitz not knowing that it hid service charges on my US Air+Delta combination flight under the tax and fees amount. After I paid the fares, I found out that I made a mistake in a name of travelers and went back to the option cancel/update my trip. The Cancel Trip Website displayed a message that I can get a courtersy cancellation without penalty from the airlines but did not tell me that I will have to pay the $55 non-refundable service charges. After the cancellation, I received the confirmation email that I will be charged a servive fees of $55. All online travel companies such as Orbitz, Travelocity, and Expedia advertised no service charges but only Travelocity actually has no cancellation feees.
Orbitz should display its service charges clearly on the purchase page prior credit card to payment. This is a dishonest practice and law firms should start a class action lawsuit on behaf of consumers.
