Norton [systemworks] Complaint - Impossible Consumer Support
Have been a continuous Norton user since the old days of DOS3.3, in 2007 I was persuaded to upgrade from my 2003 to the 2007 version of System Works, along with the innocent looking product key, and that is the problem.
Three years of paying my subscription, and in 2010 I had a problem with the backup. So being an experienced user I uninstalled, cleaned up the remnants and reinstalled, activated and all OK, except for the massive download to update System Works.
The next boot up reported that NAV had been switched off, I also found that The rest of System works was off abd that I needed to activate, I did so and was informed that I had exceed my allowed number of re-activations, There followed a support routine that would put any Government department to shame, after 5 days of fruitless tail chasing, phones that direct me back to the beginning, I'm left with 344 days subscription and no protection.
I've bitten the bullet and changed to another AV that supplies an email address and phones that produces human contact. To say the least I'm disappointed, and bloody annoyed at loosing my $87.
