Animal emergency clinic in Ellicott City, MD Complaint - Think twice before you take your seriously ill pet there!

ELLICOTT CITY, MARYLAND -- I had a horrible experience at the Animal emergency clinic in Ellicott City, MD. My pet experienced some breathing problems. The veterinarian on duty, I felt, was not competent. My pet was discharged against my better judgment. She died 2 hours later in my arms, a horrible death, while I was driving her to another hospital (AEH told me to take her to a hospital 45 minutes away, instead of taking her back to them. I was advised to report, what I felt was extreme negligence and incompetence on behalf of the AEH to the Maryland Veterinary Board of Examiners. Well, if you think that the Board is not biased, think again. To add insult to injury, the Board took the side of the incompetent vet, listened to the litany of lies the AEH staff wrote in the vet's behalf. In other words, the time and effort I put forth, sending documents and my factual list of events that horrible night to the Board of Veterinary Examiners was a waste of time. There is no recourse other than to hire an attorney. My pet died a miserable death, needlessly. I personally would never recommend that clinic to anyone. If a pet got hit by a car in front of their establishment, I would take it to the Emergency hospital in Catonsville, Towson, or Annapolis. The odds are much better that the pet will make it at the other facilities.

I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your pet. Did anyone give you a diagnosis of the cause of death?

I'm very sorry for your loss. I know how hard it is to lose a pet, and then to feel that you didn't have to lose your pet must make it infinitely worse.

I am truly sorry for your loss. Did you consider a necropsy, to find out what the actual cause of death was?? It may have helped with your complaint.

Losing our beloved pets is just as hard as when we lose family members, heck they are our family members.
