Bank of America Complaint - Bank Robbery... but by the bank!
Bank of America is robbing people with their overdraft fees. As of this summer, they claim they will be changes the debit system so that each debit transaction will only go through if the funds are available at the time of sale. This may help... but what about their current tactics?
Our bank account is currently overdrawn $406.39. Why? After a Best Western double charged us, we were sent into a frenzy of 18 overdraft fees! The total of these overdraft fees come to $630.00! This is not acceptable! Bank of America is ROBBING its victims.
We spoke with several representatives in the electronic claims department. They informed us that all charges would be removed in 48 hours. This never happened. We called them back, after the 48 hours, and were told that only one charge would be taken off because of the manner in which the charges went in. I looked over the numbers with the associate, and what he said made some sense. But, they still should not be allowed to charge $630.00 in overdraft fees!
We are a family with a single income. My husband gets paid every two weeks an average of $490.00. His next pay check would barely cover our overdraft amount. If we deposit his pay check, we will have no money for food or our bills, and this is unacceptable. We have a one year old son, and we must be able to provide him with warmth, food, water and shelter. Also important to him is love, and a stress free environment. These essential things are difficult to provide under our financial circumstances.
Thank you Bank of America for Robbing us of our ability to care for our family.
