DirecTV Inc Complaint - You get what you pay for never sounded so true.
A final note on the wretched service received from DirecTV. I will stop at nothing to keep other people from dealing with the same head ache I have lived with for the past nine months.
A list of problems, I’ve encountered with this corporate scum of a company:
1) They only do 24 month contracts. (Now for most young people just starting out from college, this is unreasonable, but whatever!) The CSR I talked with lied to me and said that they would do 12 month contracts with standard equipment, another CSR told me it was 18 months. All of these responses came within a matter 6 HOURS, with 3 different reps. Clearly, there is a demand to get new customers, and misinformed reps are a dime a dozen. Don’t EVER expect to get the same answer from any of them. Unless of course you want to cancel your contract. Its $20 for every month you have left in your contract, this is the only statement that has been the same since I started this contract from hell.
2) All of the promotions for a free DVR are most likely a lie. I know other people who have said they thought the DVR was their property once the contract was over; only to find out they were leasing it the whole time. The reps lied about that too!
3) They failed to provide me with HBO, Showtime and Starz free for 3 months. So I had to call again to figure out why this mistake was made. The representative was nice and connected it for me, but when I paid my first month’s bill a couple days later, I was wrongly billed $36 for this service. I had to make yet another phone call and have this removed and a credit placed on my next month’s bill. Then to add insult to injury, they turned off the free movie channels a day later, stating I was not supposed to get them in the first place. YEA I KNOW, its getting a little ridiculous right?
4) Had to suspend my account due to balcony work in my apartment complex. I called and had it turned off for 3 months, and when I had it reactivated, my bill increased by $10. I called in again to ask why and they told me I lost a discount for suspending my service. Mind you, NO ONE told me this 3 months earlier.
These are only four of the problems I had with DirecTV, but oh boy, there were others! Buyer beware!!! This company could care less at what their reps tell prospective customers. Each call is recorded, but obviously they only use this tactic AGAINST the customer and not to improve internal problems. This is probably the worst company I have dealt with as far as customer service goes. Just because the reps are nice, DOES NOT make them fully informed on policies and procedures within their own company. This is bad enough, but to have management not even care to make things right with the customer makes them the scum on the bottom of my shoe.
A woman who will go great lengths to MAKE SURE this does not happen to anyone else.
