AirTran Airways Complaint - Traveling with a wheelchair? Don't use Air Tran
OMG!!!! I was traveling with my electric wheelchair, which by the way cost $23,000, and by the end of my trip with this airline, it looked like I picked it out of the junkyard and to top it off, did not even run anymore. Do these employees not get training to handle wheelchairs. These are not easily replaced or repaired....they don't just cost a minor amount of money like a piece of luggage! This chair is my legs! Without it running I get to sit in one spot until someone can come and move me. How would the employees like to do that!?! And if the physical wreckage of my chair wasn't enough, I got to have mental anguish as well!! What was supposed to be a nice, enjoyable 10th anniversary celebration turned into a nightmare! And what did I get? A "sorry" and a claim form! No offer to help...nothing! Well, Happy Anniversary to ME! If you are disabled and traveling with a wheelchair, don't expect to have it in one piece when you get it back. This is not the first time this has happened with this airline either.
