Toys R Us Complaint - Return Policy Stinks!
We purchased an Adventure Playhouse just before Christmas. This is in a box and an outside playhouse so we decided to leave it in the box and construct it once spring came. This past weekend we took it out and were incredibly dissappointed with the quality of the product. It cracked and would not assemble the way it was supposed to. I still had my receipt and called the store manager to see what our options were since we opened the box.
They informed me about their strict 90 return policy and despite the cicumstance, would not help me. I contacted the manufacturer, but they could not offer a refund either. I agreed with them that they shouldn't have to as they are not in the retail business and I didn't give my money to them.
I understand that companies have return policies. But I believe that a company should have the customer's best interest in mind, especially if they want customer loyalty and to be in business for a long time. Costco has a great playhouse on display right now and I hate that I gave my business to Toys R Us rather than them. A company that guarantees their customers satisfaction with a product. I know I can trust Costco to take care of me b/c of this policy.
I spent $300 on this toy from Toys R Us, and now it will be a complete waste! We will end up using this house as scrap (my husband would like to burn it) all because they aren't willing to make an exception to their policy. (We were only over the 90 days by 2 weeks!) Never will I buy another thing from Toys R Us again!
