Dish Network Complaint - They gouge you once they've got you in a contract
Beware of Dish Network: Once they have suckered you into a two-year contract, the quality of their service is poor and they begin gouging you in ways that strike me as unethical or, at the least, demonstrate a complete disregard for their customers. For example, we have been paying more than $100 a month for six years of service. A technician was recently out to install a new neighbor's dish and somehow caused us not loose our High Definition channels. I understand that these things happen, but when I asked them to come out and fix it, two hours of phone time later, I found out that it would cost me $95 to have a technician come out to fix it. Or, they offered me a $6 warranty package so that it would only cost me $25 each time a technician comes out. To cancel, they charge $12.50 for every month left on the two-year contract. I think it is unethical that they would cause the problem and then gouge me to fix it. And apparently customer loyalty doesn't count for anything. I recommend Verizon, they cost less and don't charge to come out when you aren't getting the service you are paying for.
