Capitol One Visa Complaint - Pond Scum - Dispute over unauthorized charge on Capitol One Credit Card

Review by Seeking Lawyer on 2010-03-29
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH -- After a very lengthy dispute over a unauthorized charge and a small claims lawsuit in which I prevailed, I was led to believe by Capitol One Visa that they were agreeing to settle the account by not charging late fees and financial charges ( less than $250, showing the account paid in full. Capitol One subsequently hit my credit status and dropped my credit score, which cost me a number of jobs that I had applied for.
When I made recontact to find out why, Capitol One Visa "MAGICALLY" claimed that I had owed now over $700 !!!!!!! There is no avenue for any kind of arbitration other than court ( which it may come to that ) After being paying the extortion fee, they promised to send me a settlement notice in the mail ( Never got one ) I have also yet to see an improvement in my credit score even though the ransom fee was paid.
One more failed job application ? I swear legal revenge.
Good advice " Make sure this AINT in your wallet ! "

Yep, this is lawyer material. By the way, attorneys sometimes prefer you don't publicly comment about pending cases.

Do you know for certain that this is why you were unable to find a job?
