I think more and more companies have been moving to cheaper production lines in the last few years. My wife use to buy most of her clothes from Old Navy, it was affordable and decent quality. But lately the quality has taken a turn for the worse. Most of her garments are shot after a few washes. So now she doesn't shop there much any more... unless it is for baby clothes since that only gets a few months usage anyway before our daughter outgrows it....

How do socks break? Was the elastic shot and they no longer stay up? Were the toes or heels worn out already after one wearing?

Expensive might not always be better. I've bought socks at Target and Walmart... and they've lasted a long time.

This is interesting to know because Calvin Klein socks were, at one point the only socks I would buy since they lasted the longest. They were a bit expensive at about 4 dollars a pair at Pantorama, but they were worth it. Now like so many other brands, it sounds like they're nothing but garbage. But still at a premium price of course.

Hanes makes good socks at a reasonable price. I buy them for my son, and they last a long time.
