Time Warner Cable Complaint -
I am writing in the hope that you can help me address a problem I have had with Time
A Time Warner customer service representative sold me the new MLB Extra Innings,
based on my husband's and my interest in seeing more Yankees games. She assured
me that most games are available via this service at $100 for the second half of
the season. The advertisement for this service is 'The games you want to see, the
teams you want to watch' (I believe). That is just not the case. There have been
maybe one of every 10-12 Yankees games actually broadcast. I called after the first
week of service and was told that there is no way to cancel, even though I offered
to pay for the first month, but just cancel the remaining two months of the season.
They told me that once your order it, you are stuck with it. I have since called
two other times to complain again. Someone named Purdy, although empathetic, said
a supervisor would call me back, because there were not available. Two times I was
promised a supervisor would call and it has yet to happen. I remain extremely frustrated
at the lack of Yankees games broadcast. Whether or not it is in Time Warner's control
which games are broadcast, it has resulted in false advertisement, in my opinion,
and the service is offered by Time Warner, so I feel they are responsible to rectify
it with MLB or whomever, not MY problem, as has been indicated.
Because of this, I am fairly sure I will look into a Satellite provider. I see how
I can recommend Time Warner Cable to others either.
I feel I deserve a refund for the service since the first week we had it, which
was immediately following the All-Star game. I asked then to cancel at that time,
and I offered to pay for the first month even though we hadn't used it all.
I now do not even think I should be refunded back to that first phone call.
Thanks for listening and considering my complaint. I'll be even more appreciative
once I receive your response.
At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.
