WoW Work Out World (EB, NJ) Complaint - Not Military Friendly

Review by Completely Angered on 2010-04-02
EAST BRUNSWICK, NEW JERSEY -- Work Out Word WOW is NOT MILITARY FRIENDLY!

As mentioned about the other WoW locations, we are also having issues cancelling our membership. When we signed up, we mentioned we may be relocated due to Military Orders and the boy said "No problem! Just show your orders. I understand, I used to be in the Navy." Well BIG PROBLEM. I walked in and the little HS girl behind the counter printed out 2 forms and told us to mail them certified to WoW. Then you have to wait 30 days during a cancellation period....In 14 days, we will be living in another state...permanently. They continue to send me emails about freezing our accounts as students and then we can use the gym when we are home on breaks. I have responded to 3 different people regarding this matter. No one can help because "there is nothing [they] can do."

DO NOT JOIN WOW IF YOU MAY BE AFFECTED BY MILITARY ORDERS! THIS INCLUDES FEDERAL EMPLOYEES that may be affected by BRAC!

I'm a bit confused. Did they say the wouldn't cancel the contract, or did they say there was a 30 day "holding period" of sorts, and during that time they keep trying to convince you not to cancel it?

They said they would cancel it and I would have to wait the 30 days "cancellation period." They also said they received my notice after the first of the month and that they were doing me a favor; however, thanks to the fact that they request certified mail, I know they got it LAST MONTH. They also charged both accounts a maintenance fee. And now I can't get a response from anyone regarding our accounts. I'm contacting my lawyer. Perhaps a class-action is necessary.
