Vacation Rentals By Owner Complaint - Davenport, FL House Rental VRBO 120241

Review by KCE on 2010-04-02
DAVENPORT, FLORIDA -- Property owners withheld $50 from our security deposit, indicating that we left the house keys in our rental car and they had to “re-key” the house. We never rented a car but drove our own vehicle to Florida. Prior to check-in the property owners emailed instructions, which was to access the house key from the “lock box” near the front door. When we checked out we locked the door and placed the house key in the “lock box” per their instructions. The property owners were told we left the keys in a car rental from their management company and refused to believe us even after several emails the property owners said the “case was closed”.

Additionally, the listing photos did not accurately reflect the rental’s appearance as they indicated on the VRBO Website as “high standard of care”. The property was not clean or well maintained. Per the rental agreement we contacted the owner to report the damage and maintenance issues the second day were there.

Their response was disparaging then stating we were being “very unreasonable”. We would not recommend this property to anyone.

This is not their fault. The rental company is the one who should bear the complaint.
