Netspend Complaint - BEWARE OF NETSPEND
AUSTIN, TEXAS -- My daugher had her paycheck direct deposted with NETSPEND. She passed away in October 2009 and did not have any children. I had my attorney complete the forms I needed to close out her account. All the forms were mailed on Dec. 2nd which they denied receiving; but I have a signed return receipt showing they received them Dec. 8th. All forms were faxed again and I received a call from one of the people telling me they received the papers and would be processed right away. After a month and not hearing anything I called them; talked with a customer service representative who started telling me they needed some more info which I faxed to them and they said I would receive the check in 20 days. Did not receive check! Called again, talked to Supervisor, she said they had not been notified by the government(Social Security) that my daughter had died. She was not on SS so there was no reason for them to notify Netspend and they wouldn't know where she did her banking anyway. JUST ANOTHER STALL!!! Said she would process it and I would get a check in 20 days. NO CHECK!! Talked with another customer service rep, another Supervisor, and Manager all the same day and they each said the account had been closed and a check issued but all had different dates as to when it was done. So who is lying about this?????? This is April 4th and still have not received the check!!!!
SO BE FOREWARNED: DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH NETSPEND IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY.
They evidently think if you die your money is theirs to keep!!!!!!
