Geek Squad sucks Complaint - Geek squad really sucks
My problem is not with Best buy but with their repair service- Geek Squad. We had a dryer(LG) that was 9 months old break. I called for repair, and ended up with an appt with the Geek Squad. The GS guy came out, and said he had to order a part. I had told them what the problem was, model, make, etc so wasn't overly thrilled about this but what can you do. HE went out to his truck to place the order. He said he wasn't sure when the part would be in, but made an appt for the following week (Wed). He had also said when he knew for sure he would call me. Well, he never called, so my wife tried calling his # and he never answered. So she tried calling his supervisor and it went to VM and said "mailbox full" Just before the day of the scheduled appt, I got an automated message that the GS would be out to replace it that day as scheduled (WED). I decided to call to verify, and the GS 800 people told me the tech who "had" the part, was a different tech then the one who came out, and he could not come out as scheduled. The tech who had ordered the part and came out before could come out but didn't have the part. For some reason, they are unable to hand-off parts (stupid). Because of this, the Appt delayed another 6 days. After 6 days, GS came out again. This time the Part was the wrong part. Again it would have to be re-ordered. The GS man said they would "over night" the part and that he would come out immediately and replace at "our" convenience. This was on a Wednesday. Thursday came, no call. Friday, no call. By the following Monday I still had not heard back. I called and complained very loudly to the 800 GS people. Finally, the part was located. Tech was scheduled for the next day and the Part replaced. total down time. 24 days. total cost for doing laundry out, about $75. I hope this warns off others. think twice before using GS. Keep in mind my Dryer was only 9 months old!!
