Internet Service Provider - Complaint
Review by cush2 on 2010-04-06
WILLIAMSVILLE, NEW YORK -- I contracted with ERINET in 1998. They became Corecomm at some point. When my 3 year contract was coming up for renewal I started calling them to see if they could offer me anything except dial-up. The said no so I said I would not be renewing & again they said OK. I then contracted with another company in 2006. A month after not renewing I received a bill for $21.95. I called & asked why and they said they needed a cancellation in writing. Nobody told me that before. They have continually billed my $21.95 each month. They have spent twice the cost in paper, envelope & postage than what they are billing. I just called today & they said the website had a cancellation notice policy & that it didn't matter that nobody told me the numerous times I called telling them I could not continue with dial up only. They claim they sent me an email which I didn't receive ( probably ended up in spam) telling me I needed to notify them in writing of the cancellation- since they didn't send they are still billing the $21.95. I asked to talk to a supervisor & she said there was nobody higher. I asked for a problem resolution person or the CEO's name & she said not allowed to tell me. I then asked for a physical address of the company so I can get the BBB & attorney involved. She gave it to me & promptly slammed the phone down & hung up on me!
