Commonwealth Edison Company Complaint - Over charge - electric

ILLINOIS -- I cannot believe what I am being charged for the electric I use, my Feb. bill was an estimated bill for $324.00 and my last bill for Mar. was a meter read bill for $ 270.00 and these charges are for a 1100 sq. ft. house and I have added nothing electric to my home I would say that in the past my average bill from ComEd was around $120.00 per month, when I took a look at the past billing I noticed that the only fee that changed on my bill was something called a franchise fee which went from $30.00 to $76.00, I am living on a fixed income (retired) and because of these outrageous bills have been force to do without some of the comforts of life, I wish there was someone who could investigate this company for their outrageous charges.

Have you called ComEd to see what the trouble may be? That would have been my first stop.

clutzycook, yes I have contacted them, in fact when I received that ridiculous estimated bill I was on the phone right away, but all I got for an answer was that all of my previous billings must have been in error and thats how they make up the difference, I even questioned why a so called franchise fee on my bill went from $30.00 to $78.00 the girl on the other end said it was part of the increase all commonwealth edison customers were paying.The subsequent calls I made after this one were just as fruitless, they insist that I must be using an appliance thats drawing an enormous amount of energy, this after I have told them that everything running now is the same as it was five years ago, and all I get is Im sorry sir.
