Water Star Motors Complaint - Engine Stolen, Provided Parts not installed, also disappeared

Review by Uwe on 2010-04-08
My original, good running engine was stolen at Water Star Motors, the family owned business, very little money was offered to me as a compensation for a decent running engine that I wanted to keep, while I had a brand new exchange engine brought to the shop Water Star Motors, at 318 River st, in Santa Cruz. The new parts I had provided turned out to be missing or with other words they were never installed. On top of that my car body was damaged during the amateur engine swapping procedures--no need for the owner to tell me about it???

Finally, the car died on the way home from the shop, which charged me close to 1800 bucks before I left the shop.

Overall, so far my worst experience with car shops.

Avoid, if you are smart.

I would call local junk yards and try and get data on the going rate for a similar engine that was stolen and demand that amount in compensation plus the missing parts and body damage. Threaten them with a BBB and Attorney General complaints and see if that does anything to motivate them. You may even want to sue them if the amount in question turns out to be substantial enough.
