Dish Network Complaint - Do Not Get Dish Network They Will Screw You Over
I am a 20 yr old female who recently signed up for the Dish Network service not even 2 months!
I am furious!!!
I am making a list of what bull they said about their company and how they manipulated their way of getting me to join.
My dad wanted Dish Network and all he needed was a credit card. I looked at the price. Stating 24.99 A month for the America's top 250.
When I talked to the representative he seems like he knew a lot and got me going on with the subject.
Seemed good. So I was in...
Not even 4 days later when I started complaining.
They had secretly put a 25 dollar hold on my card that day of the agreement to their company after I told them if anything was going to be charged?
---Their response.... No
And then they told me in a month your going to receive your first bill of 48 dollars by Monday at 3 pm(when I made the first initial call was made on Saturday)
So I told my dad to give me 55 dollars just in case they did not include tax...
When I called after I deposited Monday morning so that in the afternoon the amount would be withdrawn, the statement showed me that I was negative because a 25 dollar charge was made...
I thought who would of used my card... But I had not touched it in like 3 weeks
they secretly put a hold without my consent
it got me to overdraft my card
so I told the Dish Network company what happened. The bull of the 25 dollar hold screwed me over. Without my consent or permission of agreeing to the hold...
At the end with the $30 overdraft charge and the 48 dollar charge, I was left with -17 dollars. And then finally when the 25 was put back. It went back to a positive charge of 7 dollars.
[The only reason why we got 1 DVR is because they told us after that they would charge6-7 dollars per DVR for the total 6 room free installation noted on the flier. So really 3 DVRs times 6-7 dollars each which were compatible for 6 free room installation.]
So when I told them how come on the flier it says 6 for the price of 1...
That's the only reason we just got 1 DVR for 2 rooms instead of the initial 3 rooms we wanted which would of been 2 DVR's... So they wouldn't charge us the 2nd DVR.....
When the technician came over to my dad's house to install the DVR that supports 2 rooms, after the tech left, we noticed that he did not install the second room neither gave us the remote for the first room. So we called up the company again and when we spoke to the man, he said it he would be back the next day as soon as possible to add the second installation.
My dad wanted the 3rd room so I told him thats what we initially wanted and if we can get it but that they would have to have a $1 holding fee for that DVR and it would be a separate installation with another fee.
I explained that they shouldn't charge us but he said sorry the case had to be a new one because the 1st case was already made. So we had to pay a 15 dollar fee for the tech. They linked both jobs together of coming back and doing the third room plus the second room they "forgot"
so he came by two days later
he said it would be a 100 dollar charge for him to have come back and install the second room, that's when it was argued saying no, it should have been done the first time, so it was his fault.
When I had talked to the representative on the phone he said it wasn't going to be a 100 dollar charge, so I thought maybe the tech didn't know the promotion.
So then we were ok from that point.
Until we received out statement
and it said we owed about 98 dollars!!!
I called and I told them why are we being charged 95 dollars when I paid the 1st month.
He said you didn't pay the first month with us. And I said yes I clearly did.
That I paid 48 dollars on Monday when they pulled it out of my account to pay for the first month fee.
The representative told me that the 48 dollars was a activation fee with a authorized dealer connected with Dish Network, but not to us directly
I said then why do they say they are Dish Network when we talked to them and who is lying and I told the representative that why do they give us a false number to call if it is not the main Dish Network company. So that they wouldn't screw us over with a fee for some linked authorized dealer.
Especially when on the flier it did not list the authorized dealers company. Only Dish Network
furious and frustrated was I about that. I told him that the other representative supposibly "Dish Network" didn't make it clear that it was a activation fee for their company. When I heard the recording after demanding them to show me after 7 minutes. I heard my voice to agreeing to the hidden fee.
And thats when I told them I thought that charge was for the first month charge. They said the man clearly said it was a activation fee. Again them manipulating their words I fell into their trap without knowing, because I thought activation fee was the first month as I even told him if it was for the first month and he did not say it wasn't.
Then I saw another charge of 15 fee for the man to come and put the 2nd DVR which was for the 3rd TV.
And I told the representative why are we being charged that, if when initially we wanted 3 rooms so it shouldn't even be charged.(I had also talked to a female representative who told me that the 2nd visit for the tech to show up was not going to be charged the 15 dollar fee)
back and forth we complained and got no where.
When we saw the 98 dollars. Which didn't even make sense, I asked then why 95 if the its suppose to be 24.99 A month for top 250. He said you have to pay for this month and next months bill together. So I complained again and said. On the flier it ways 24.99 A month. It did not state that we had to pay for 2 months every billing payment.
And also said we had a 2yr contract with them when on the flier it said a 1 yr contract.
Whats ironic is when I recently talked to one of the supervisors, I told them why don't they say all these hidden charges and he replied saying "because if we were to put everything on the flier it would be hundreds of pages. So I told him well if we knew all the hidden fees and the truth, no one would buy your company's products!
Not reliable company!!!
This does not include the other things like
when we ordered the America's top 250, they installed the 200. They are charging us about$50 for a upgrade fee. When again it is their fault for not putting the 250 in the first place since that is the package we wanted!!! And their mistake.
They gave us 3 free months of cinemax and life
but at the end we just had them take it off
along with the free hbo and showtime
because I know that after those 3 months are up, they are automatically going to charge us all for that. So save yourself the cost.
Cancellation fee is supposibly set to $17 a month
but I read online that they might charge also a $200 equipment fee along with the cancellation...
So beware with Dish Network!!!
