Sport and Health Clubs, Virginia Complaint - Violations of Consumer Laws

Review by AgelessVA on 2010-04-09
RESTON, VIRGINIA -- Be wary of health clubs that offer discounted membership and then do not share the agreement with you. In Virginia, you have only three days to drop membership and then you're stuck. Sport and Health does not share the agreement until you ask for it, then stick you with a year's membership regardless whether you use the club or not. The Reston club is also not senior friendly. Advice to anyone over 50, stay away.

If someone asked me to agree to a contract and wouldn't give me a copy of the contract, I'd walk back out the door with my checkbook.

I'm sorry you had this experience at our Reston club. I'm not sure if you are still a member or not, but I would really like to know what we could due to make this club more senior-friendly. It our goal to create the best member experience possible - for all of our members. If you'd like to discuss in greater detail, please feel free to email me at ourcommunity@sportandhealth.com.

I'd like to know how I can file a complaint against a trainer at a Sport and Health. Is there a corporate number I can call for a Virginia club?
