Imagine Cars Complaint - Dealer That Sells Cars With Major Problems

Review by craiguito on 2010-04-12
ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- My name is Craig Kirkland I recently bought a used car from Imagine cars. Couple days after I bought the car there was major defects with vehicle. I toke the car to the mechanics to fix the problem. After the mechanics fixed the problem a couple of days later the vehicle shut off on me an its been in the repair shop for three weeks now. I've spent over a thousand dollars in repairs an parts an the vehicle is still not working.

I talked to imagine cars about helping me try to fix the problem an they didn't want to offer there service they said I quote "you bought it as is"
to me that's just bad business. This car has been sitting longer then I've been driving it an I'm also wasting money on paying for the car when I can't even drive it. To me that's unethical!!!

It is a 1998 vehicle. Expect many problems to arise on a 12 year-old vehicle. An Acura model is popular vehicle so expect the abuse from the previous owners.

In almost every state in the Union, buying used cars 'As Is' is standard. In Massachussetts, every car must pass the state inspection to be sold. Everywhere else, take the car to a good mechanic of your choice before buying. It is well worth the hundred bucks or so it will cost. Ask for a CarFax on the car and have it checked by your mechanic. If the dealer balks at this, find another dealer and another car.
