Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, NV Compliment - Rock on!
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- I have found over the years that a warm and sincere smile will get you much further than anything else in life. I planned a trip for my wife and I to Las Vegas, NV to see one of her favorite up and coming bands. They were playing at The Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. I reserved the rooms with my Visa (debit card), which apparently hadn't dawned on the reservation desk when she asked how I'd be paying, I simply said with my Visa. Well, while the majority of hotels accept debit cards as a form of payment, most on the Vegas strip do not. They require an actual credit card. And I was informed of this immediately upon registering at the front desk. My wife was so pumped for this concert, all she could do was spin around the hotel lobby in amazement with a glazy look in her eyes. Was I going to have to tell her that it wasn't going to happen? My heart sank. The receptionist very politely explained to me the reason they needed a credit card was to hold for incidental charges. But she could see the stars in my wife's eyes. She said, wait just a minute and see what I can do. She came back and said that since we had traveled a long distance and seemed like nice people (i. e.-the warm and SINCERE smile I talked about) that she would just take an extra hundred from the debit card for each night reserved (2), and upon checking out, they would refund the money. And that is exactly what they did. They could have been hard-nosed and strict about their company policies, but instead, they were understanding and compassionate of travelers who had gone out of their way to travel and chose them as the place they'd most like to sleep during their visit. It was this type of recognition that will forever keep my business with them.
