Bob's Discount Furniture Complaint - Absolutely Terrible!
MANCHESTER, CONNECTICUT -- On Feb. 12th 2010 I went into Bob's to buy a living room set. The color I wanted was out of stock so they said it would take 6-8 weeks. The only reason why I agreed to these terms was because I was in the process of buying a home and figured I wouldn't be in until about 7 weeks so it would be perfect... Far from perfect. 6 weeks came, then 7 and on the 8th week I decided to see what was going on. They told me that there was an error on my order sheet and they ordered the wrong thing. They told me they were sorry for not calling me. I told them something needed to be done as I was in my new home with absolutely no furniture... After arguing with the manager she said she would take off half of the price for delivery charge which would be $50... I said absolutely not and talked her down to the full $100.
I was somewhat pleased with this and when she said the set would be delivered two weeks max but probably one I said OK... Two weeks and a day went by without hearing from them... I called them and they said that the couches were in but the tables were out of stock and they were going to be shipped on April 24th... I put my deposit on this stuff on Feb 12th! I was livid! Then she ended up putting me on hold while I was complaining about how she was giving me the run around. She ended up calling the warehouse and they said they had some in stock and they would ship them on Friday April 16th... We will see how that goes... Terrible service, even when you go into the Manchester store their employees are like hawks, I must have been approached by every single employee saying if I was interested in buying something to come to them. It was ridiculous. Never again will I be shopping at Bob's.
