Allstate Insurance Informative - Definitely not in "good hands"
I've been insured with Allstate for over 20 years, on November 16, 2009 I was hit by a guy who also had Allstate insurance. I assumed it would be an easy claim to handle since we both had the same insurance company...and I couldn't have been more wrong. They have HORRIBLE customer service, the absolute worst I've ever dealt with. Their claim agents are cocky, arrogant, and take rudeness to a new level. I caught the agent handling my claim in several lies about various things and he accused me of being a liar when I was speaking to him about my settlement. This agent came right out and told me that they were looking out for the guy who hit me rather than me, the victim. We went weeks and weeks without hearing from them regarding my claim, I faxed them all my medical bills to speed things up (like they told me to), that still didn't work. Then when they decided to go through my paperwork, there were a few things I hadn't sent and rather than calling me to tell me this, they left it alone. So finally after a month and a half of hearing nothing from them, I called them and THEN they told me they were missing papers.
I have never in my life seen an insurance company handle a claim in such a poor manner. Here it is April 16th, 5 months exactly to the day of the accident and the claim STILL has not been settled even though I've been trying to do so for the last 2 months. On Monday I am canceling any and all coverage with Allstate, that includes all 7 of my cars and my home, and taking my business and money elsewhere.
