Sears Repair Complaint - Forget Using Sears Repair Services
I have a high end Kenmore Electric Dryer (w/Steam) that's just over one year old. So, out of warranty of course.
Dryer started giving an error code, so called and scheduled a service call.
Of course, the technician did not arrive during the time window Sears said he would, nor was there any call from Sears to say the tech was running late. An hour after the appointed time, I called Sears, who had to call the dispatcher who said the tech was running late. Gee, that was news! Tech finally called and showed up 2 hours late. Looked at the error code and said it needed a new main board. (I had given the error code to them to start with, so they should have been able to tell about the part without even coming out.)
So, order the part....and yes, it had to be delivered to the house. Kind of a stupid policy, but I guess better than them losing it on the truck somewhere.
Schedule a 2nd appointment to install the board - only they can't do that for almost a week!! But the tech is scheduled to arrive between 1pm and 5pm. At 2:40pm, Sears calls and says tech is too busy and can't make it. (Of course, no discount or anything for my lost time and having to take time off work to be home.) Next appointment is for 2 days later. No expectation that the tech will even arrive.
STAY AWAY FROM SEARS REPAIRS AND KENMORE APPLIANCES!!! CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP
