Comcast Corporation Complaint - Comcast customer service is totally incompetent!!!
3 weeks ago I moved from the Florida Keys to Atlanta. I callled Comcast 10 days prior to moving re: closing my account and returning their modem and they then told me they would be mailing out a "return kit" for their equipment(the nearest Comcast store is 45 miles away). Due to the possibility of not receiving the kit by the time we moved we gave Comcast our new address. Now 4 weeks after that initial call and calling Comcast another 4 times and going online to Comcast to 'live chat" with customer service and each time being told we have/will be sent a return kit. We are still waiting, and have received 2 voicemails from Comcast, warning us that we will be charged "a non-return fee of up to $500" if we do not return their modem, the second of these just came through this morning. I immediately called them back and was told that they sent out a return kit on the 2nd and that the longest it should take to arrive is 10 days, well it's been 18!!! I confirmed that they had the correct address to send it to, which I have done every time I've contacted them and every time it's been correct!! I would take the modem to a local Comcast store but apparently it has to be returned to the originating office which is in the Florida Keys. So now I've been told to wait until April 30th as they have ordered yet another kit to be sent out, but this is what I've been told 5 times now!!! We have been receiving all our mail at our new address with no problems so I don't see how, if Comcast really has mailed us a return kit to the correct address, that I still haven't received it! I really don't appreciate the warning messages from Comcast especially as I was the one who contacted them to ask what I do with their modem upon closing my account. I am not a thief and have no desire to keep their property.
