Realtor From Hell Complaint - BE VERY VERY CAREFUL
KENTUCKY -- About a year ago I was transfered by the company by which I am employed to a small south-eastern ky city.
I contacted a national realty chain to help with the buying of a home in the area. The person who first contacted my wife seemed very sure of herself.
After what seemed like hours of telling my wife of her past sales and high moral standards, we determined an agency such as this would only hire top people as reltors. WRONG
We told our agent what we were looking for in a home, and our price range. She would often send us photographs of properties but the photographs were always taken what seemed hundreds of feet away.
We found several homes despite very inept photography we liked from the description only. Both my wife and I had taken one week off work after setting up with our realtor tours of the properties.
We arrived in the city and called our realtor, who was no where to be found. The next morning we tried again and finally found her visiting with out of town relatives, but assured us she would have someone show us the homes.
We informed her that we had taken time from work at her request to see these homes. She "agreed" to meet us the next morning "having to cut her vacation short" because she was at our service and would work tirelessly to place us in the home of our dreams.
When we meet her all I can say is I have never heard a billboard speaking, until that moment. We were taken to a home in the country one that I am sure was a scene in Sling Blade. We again told her what we were looking for, and she immediatly said "if I had known that we could have had appointments set up for viewing"
We were taken to 3 more properties, I would not force my horse to reside it, all priced well above their current market value.
All the while being told that she could get us wonderful rates from a local bank. We told her we preferred using our own, but she continued to push one local bank. I finally caved and ask the rates she replied I will handle that for you, they are at all time low levels.
The moral of my story, when buying a home use a website such as For Sale by Owner or something like this. This person while I cannot say for sure but from all points of her attempted sale to us must be on the payroll from banks to home supply companies.
