It's not a law, that you have to wear gloves while handling food,at least not in Minnesota.

The wearing of gloves by food workers only provides a false sense of security. Those gloves could be just as nasty (or much worse) than their bare hands. Just curious: do you, each and every time, wash your hands before handling food? Probably not.

If you keep noticing this at these restaturants why do you keep going? Also the health department does their checks but it is also your right as a consumer to bring this complaint to them. They will then have to do an investigation. Your best bet is to address this with the local health department. I know here in TX they run news segments and let the viewers know the scores of certain restaturants for our safety. It is a food for thought segment. You should contact your local health department just to be safe not only for you but other patrons.

I dont know about CT but certain states dont require gloves while handling food. If you know for a fact that your state requres it and this happens all the time then you need to call coorporate and report it. Dont bother with the health department. Everyone will be in compliance when they come in.

I work at BK in Ontario, Canada and it seems the only customers who complain about us not wearing gloves must be the ones that come from areas of the world where gloves are part of the uniform. The last time a customer complained and said miss, miss while I was working boards and very much occupied, said you should be wearing gloves. I told her flat out that here in Ontario we don't have to wear gloves. It gets rather annoying with these people and their complaining over gloves. I'm afraid of what these people touch with gloves on and don't change or wash them afterwards. Think about it for a moment. Someone is wearing gloves and is preparing raw food and then without blinking an eye walks away and doens't change the gloves or wash them and starts preparing cooked food product. Can you spell cross contamination? At least if they are using thier hands at some point in time they have to wash them.
