AirTran Airways Complaint - AirTran Insensitive to Children
On a return flight from Orlando to BWI on 4/17/2010 AirTran assigned our two 5 year old grandchildren seats in different zones from my husband and myself and from each other. I called Air Tran directly, asked for help at Air Tran Customer Service at the airport, again at the gate, and asked the flight attendants as we boarded the plane and no one would help. The staff at the gate said because we booked our flight through Disney and didn't book directly through Air Tran we couldn't choose our seats so it was Disney's fault. They were completely insensitive to the children's needs to be with an adult for the flight. This also happened to another family on the same flight that had booked their flight through Disney. AirTran is using this tactic to charge money for seat assignments. We didn't even have that option. We booked the flight in January and provided the children's ages at the time of booking. They should have been automatically assigned seats with the adults in their traveling party.
