Days Inn Complaint - Filthy--even used towels!!
MIAMI, FLORIDA -- While we were not expecting a Westin or top-of-the line Hilton, my friend and I WERE expecting a decent room prior to an early airport check in. What we got was a room that had not been vacuumed, used linens (wet, then dried, crispy wash cloths), dirty bed linens, absolutely filthy halls, elevators, items left in room from previous occupants, no air conditioning and a hotile (and scary) so-called evening manager after we registered our complaints. This place even disabled our phone so that we could not call out (a 911 call would have been impossible had we needed one. The area was unsafe and even had a sign in the front "Shopping Carts NOT allowed in lobby" UGH..... The pool and restaurant that were advertised were not located on the property. We would have had to walk to the hotel across the parking area for that. Although we tried to leave the hotel, availability at another was not to be found. Because of such a bad experience, we asked for a refund, but the manager refused and then walked out slamming our room door in our faces. Such hostility made two traveling women feel exceptionally vulnerable. Everything about this hotel was awful. Even the shuttle driver smelled and did not say ONE word to any of us for the trip to the airport. Then he dropped us off about 2 blocks from our check in area at NWA when he could have dropped us off at the curbside checkin. It was the longest night of our lives and my friend and I wanted to jump into the arms of the friendly people at Northwest airlines when we finally got to them. Such a terrible ending to a wonderful trip to Key West. Miami is truly the armpit of the country.
