SouthwestVacations Complaint - Disneyland Vacation Disaster
On the day we were to fly out for our vacation to Disneyland our flight was cancelled in Spokane due to construction on the runway that the Southwest Airlines pilots normally use in inclement weather. We were taking our 6 year old granddaughter to Disneyland, of course she was devastated that we would not be flying out that day. The weather was a bit overcast but all the other airlines were on time and were not cancelled. They rebooked us for the following day on one of the first flights out. We learned that the other flights that day were cancelled. Because Southwest was booking flights when it knew that the runway was under construction we feel we should be reimbursed for one day hotel stay and one day park hopper tickets. When we finally arrived at Orange County and tried to find our transportation we were informed that we did not have tickets and it cost us $84 one way to the hotel. I know I had checked that we wanted a shuttle on our itinerary. We also had to purchase transportation back to the airport at the end of our vacation for another $50. When we got to the airport we were informed our flight was 2 hours late and we would miss our connecting flight home. They tried to put us on standby for another flight and took our luggage. When we got to the boarding area the people at the counter could not believe that they put us on standby as the flight was overbooked already. Needless to say we did not arrive home until the next day. I will never book a vacation with SouthwestVacations or fly with Southwest Airlines again.
