Branson, Missouri Papa Johns Complaint - Terrible Papa John Service AND Pizza

Review by Vietnam Veteren on 2010-04-27
BRANSON, MISSOURI -- I am 61 years old and my wife and I eat pizza quite often and I have had everything from great service to questionable service but todays visit to the Branson Papa Johns would be at the bottom of the barrel and this is the first time I have ever complained about anyones service! When I parked and walked up to the front door there was a heavyset employee that asked me If I was there for pizza and while doing this he had the door open and was smoking a ciggarette. When I replied yes, he let out a sigh and followed me in. I had never been to a Papa Johns before although my wife had been to a Dallas TX site many times in the past and had always bragged about their food and service. I ordered an extra large sausage and cheese and was asked no other question and after several minutes I happen to see inside the employee counter the sheet for abbreviations for various toppings and I asked if there were more than one type of sausage and was told very indignatly, yes, there is and was told "I guess I should have asked you what type you wanted" by the employee. Just before my pizza was done I overheard the same employe ask his apparent supervisor "Can I now go out and finish my ciggarette" and he did. Meanwhile another employee came in and was talking with another one and I witnessed the phone ring 8 times before one of the two took the time to answer the phone and yet they were doing nothing but talking. ........I had my own business for years and years and frankly if this were my location or franchise, I would fire the whole bunch of them because they obviously cared not one bit for the customer. The pizza also was below sub par and even my wife who normally loves Papa Johns made the comment it was "terrible" . If this is representative of how all Papa Johns pizza stores are like and how all of their pizzas taste I doubt I would ever go to another one.

First of all, don't let this one location upset you to the point of boycotting all Papa John's. I absolutely love their pizza. Try another location, and I'll bet you won't be sorry you did. Secondly, if it was me that was asked at the front door, "Are you here for some pizza"? I don't think I could've resisted the temptation on quipping back, "No, I'm the state health inspector here for a quarterly inspection, and you smoking in the doorway is in direct violation of state health code"! Just to see the expression on his face!
