Geeks.com Complaint - Avoid the Geeks.com Scam
OCEANSIDE, CALIFORNIA -- I buy a lot of things from Amazon, so I am used to clicking order, and having the stuff arrive at my door in 2 days in perfect condition. Not so at Geeks.com. Before they would send it, I had to call them to confirm the order. Out of the ordinary, but I did it anyway.
The real problem began when I opened the box. The laptop was missing cosmetic parts and was scratched up. This was a refurbished product, but I was expecting better. If this was the only problem I would have just lived with it without complaining.
However they sent me a laptop with a COUNTERFEIT version of WINDOWS! This is literally about the 20th computer I have purchased, and have never come across anything like this before.
I called Geeks.com and they were rude and unhelpful. I called Asus and they have terrible tech support. I called them 5 times, and every time they told me to run the restore disc. Well after running the disc for about three minutes I would get the word "ERROR" in giant red letters that take up the whole screen! Never seen anything like that in my life.
If you are thinking about buying something from Geeks.com, you might as well roll a wheelbarrel of cash into the backyard and light it on fire, because the end result will be the same.
I am sure I will get people with the name Popcorn and Pepper claiming this review is fake. Thinly veiled attempt by Geeks.com employees to save their reputation. I have video proof I would be glad to upload. Also do a search online for 'Geeks.com complaints' and you will see they have sold defective merchandise to hundreds of people without giving refunds.
