Citizens bank Complaint - Citizens bank sucks!
I had recently overdrawn my bank account and went to a branch to fix it.
I was depositing my check for 129.00 and the teller advised me that my account was negative. (keep in mind he is looking at a negative balance on his computer) I said I know I am depositing my check for 129.00. He processed the transaction and gave me a receipt with both a balance and available balance of $73.00. The transaction that caused the overdraft was $10.05 on Friday, April 23rd. My deposit transaction was done on Saturday April 24th. I was plus $73.00 or so I thought. I did nothing
with the account until Monday morning when I purchased $38.00 in fuel leaving me still with a positive balance...or so I thought. I get a notice in the mail on Thursday with another minus 46.00 balance. My assumption was that this was fixed on Saturday, but....although he is looking at my account, he never tells me that a fee $39.00 was pending.
I called to find out what happened and the "supervisor" said this was not a bank error....then whose error was it...he saw the computer...I did not.
I have a positive receipt and make a purchase because I thought I cleared up the problem. A cynical person might wonder if they waited until I made the purchase and THEN took the pending fee out once they saw it would cause another overdraw....I am 19 years old, a poor college kid and they do things like this????? Yet, when I was looking to start an account they shower you with free gifts and deposits into your account, etc. What a bunch of bull!!!!!!
