McDonald's Corporation Complaint - Management
I was hired at a McDonald's in November of 2002 and told by the General Manager that I needed to work there for 2 months, fill out the management book, and then I'd be made a manager since I have experience at Arby's. It is now The end of November 2003 and my book has been done for 10 months, I know 97% of the procedures, I have been FoodSafe Certified, I'm practicly running the shifts I work and still I am not a manager. We have gone through 3 GMs in 6 months, tranfrede out or fired the 3 managers who cared about our employees, had a new Area Supervisor brought in who does nother but say "It's best for McDonald's and you becouse...." Our new GM has srewed everything in the store up, promoted people who can't manage, bring in brand new managers off the street, and ignored me and another employee who have both been Managers In Training for more than 8 month. The new managers off the street are at higher pay, have keys, run shifts that suck, ect, ect...
On a similar but better note: I'm wanting to open a bar and grill within the next 3-5 years and due to getting screwed by McDonald's as you can see (and I've done the book work - a 3 inch binder) and by getting screwed at Arby's I've learned some of what NOT to do. As I said, I'm ServeSafe Certified, I have management experience, I'm getting my Associate's of Applied Science in Business Management, and I'm a hard worker. My next step toward getting my own restaraunt is to work at a bar and grill. Although I have been a waiter/busboy before.
