CitiFinancial Auto Complaint - Criminal actions by CitiFinancial
RICHMOND, KENTUCKY -- After years of doing "business" with CitiFinancial in the form of an Auto lean, they have finally crossed a line that I never thought a modern business would cross.
Due to personal financial reasons, I had fallen behind on my car payment by over 30 days. I received the standard phone calls (about 15 a day), and a few letters. 9 days after I payed my account to current, I received another letter concerning my past-due account balance. I thought it was odd that the letter took so long to arrive, so I looked for the post-mark on the letter, and it turns out there wasn't any.
After making some calls to the post-office and to the toll-free citifinancial auto number on the letter, it turns out it was hand-delivered by the local citifinancial office in my hometown. I can only assume they would hope that I wouldn't search for a post-mark and notice they violated FEDERAL LAW.
This is a warning to all other Citi customers out there. Keep an eye their correspondents to you, they may be hand-delivering your mail and rooting through your mail-box. I'll be notifying the authorities Monday morning when Citi's office is open for business.
