Hartland Grill Complaint - Rude Staff

Review by kahepfin on 2010-05-02
HARTLAND, MICHIGAN -- The staff of Hartland Grill are probably the rudest people I've ever met. They are completely selfish and do not care about the customer at all. They are more worried about how they're dressed then how their customers are doing. I saw the manager scold a worker for not wearing the correct attire, while her daughter, who also is a staff member, wore a similar outfit, but did not get scolded. I feel bad for anyone who works there.

How exactly did you know this was her daughter? If the employees are upset with their treatment or feel they are being unfairly punished, it is their job to do something about it.

Was this a family-owned restaurant or a chain? I know that at many mom-and-pop places, they are run mostly by extended family and have few paid staff. Still there was no excuse for the manager (owner?) to scold this waitress, especially if the daughter was wearing something similar. Maybe this restaurant does not require its staff to wear uniforms.

Were the staff or manager rude to you directly? If not, then you have no dog in this fight, the manager can run the restaurant as he sees fit. As my mother used to say all the time, "The boss may not always be right, but he IS always the boss." MYOB
